Essay By Tina Oldknow
Dale Chihuly's Persian series began as a search for new forms. The pieces, variously shaped and intricately patterned, are the result of many technical experiments; the overall aura is reminiscent of the ancient Middle East, Byzantium, and Venice. The book is filled with beautiful photographs and features an informative essay by Tina Oldknow of The Corning Museum of Glass about Chihuly and the creation of the series.
