Glas/s: Gerrit Rietveld Academie Amsterdam 1969-2009
By Job Meihuizen, Saskia Monshouwer, Tina Oldknow, and Xandra de Jongh
The glass department at Amsterdam's Gerrit Rietveld Academy has existed for more than 40 years, and during that time, the department has built up an international reputation and is now one of the world's leading glass schools. The many national and international graduates from the Rietveld Academy have, to a great extent, defined Dutch glass art. This book traces the department's rich history, but it is also a fine overview of developments in Dutch glass over the past four decades. This book, in English and Dutch, accompanied a 2009 exhibit at the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag. It is rich with beautiful photos and informative text.
